WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has been flown to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland after he and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for coronavirus.

Friday evening, Trump boarded the presidential helicopter, Marine One, en route to the hospital wearing a mask and a navy suit and blue tie.

White House officials said the president is expected to be there for days.

According to a White House memo released after his arrival, his physician, Dr. Sean Conley indicated Trump did not need to be put on oxygen at the current stage of treatment but was receiving other therapy.

According to the White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, “the president will be working from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days.” She assures that “the president remains in good spirits, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day.”

Trump had travelled to his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey on Thursday where he attended a fundraiser. There are speculations among White House officials that he might have come in contact with persons infected with coronavirus during the trip.
