WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump confirms that he and his wife, Melania Trump, have both tested positive to COVID-19. This came in a tweet from Mr Trump in the early hours of Friday morning.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER,” he wrote.

Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Conley, released a statement that he received confirmation of the positive tests on Thursday evening.

Dr. Sean Conley maintains that the President and his wife “are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”

This news comes just as the world reflects over the Tuesday presidential nominees’ debate that covered several issues of national importance including the management of COVID-19.

President Trump has been accused of scarcely wearing a mask in public places, which he has often defended.

Coronavirus has claimed the lives of more than 2000 000 U.S. citizens under Trump’s watch. Trump, at 74 may be seen to be at the highest risk category that could result in serious complications considering other age-related health factors.
